The Existing Speed Limits dataset is derived from the Speed limit review process initiated by the Council in 2003. The speed limit review is done on an area by area basis. This dataset is related to the proposed speed limit dataset also maintained by the Transport Unit. This is a polygon dataset with a field describing the speed limits in force in an area. the entire county has been divided into a number of Areas.
